China has developed to become the largest automotive
market in the world. However, the risk of exposure has grown compared with the last 15 years since the Chinese economy has run up against boundaries in several respects. We describe on a regular basis
which economic developments to expect and how these impact the automotive market.
Segmentation We have developed a segmentation system specifically for the Chinese market based on body style, size and price of the vehicle. Future programs are positioned in the appropriate segment at an early stage. Following analysis of the market share in the segment and the share that the new programs could achieve, we are able to give a realistic estimate of future volumes.
Assessment of OEMs We assess every OEM based on factors such as brand power, capacities, their strategy and political connections, as well as development of sales and distribution channels.
Analysis of the monthly statistics for production and sales (wholesale) We analyze monthly fluctuations and manufacturer inventories.
